The wedding speech when well thought out brings a wedding reception or dinner to life. A good speech will entertain and will be a memorable part of the wedding reception. 1.  Tell a Personal Story People love to hear new and interesting stories about their friends and loved ones. Tell a story about something you know about the person because you were also there when it happened, or even if you had only heard about it.

2.  Give the person's biography Much like telling a story cover the milestones in the person's life. These milestones include the schools they attended, the jobs that they have held, and their hobbies.

3.  Pay tribute to anyone important  A wedding is a great time to thank many people. List these people you want to give thanks to and why. For example, if you are the best man, you can thank the groom for being his best friend.

4.  Involve your audience  Get the audience laughing is the surest way to be sure that your wedding reception is a hit. If you can make people laugh with a funny story, everyone will feel like they are having a good time and enjoy themselves. However, the stories you tell or the situations you describe can end up getting a few guests chuckling without you trying to make it funny. You will loosen up the crowd and make the celebration all the more fun.
 
5.  Reveal Your Feelings You can express your feelings about the people you are speaking about in your speech. Let them know how much you love them and wish them the brightest future possible.

6. Tell a secret about the person   The guests will love to hear secrets about the guests of honor. Say something that no one knows about the person you will be talking about but may be surprised to find out.
