Baby Showers

Budgeting for Your Baby Shower
When you are planning a baby shower? One of the biggest questions is how to budget and how much money should I spend for the baby shower? How much should I spend on food, decorations, party games, and party favors? The cost of your baby shower is directly related to the number of people coming to the party. More guests will mean higher cost, but it will also mean more gifts for the expectant mother! The largest expense for a baby shower is normally the food and drinks. Many of the party planners that we asked say that the food and beverage can be as much as 35-40% of the budget if the event is catered by a professional or if the baby shower is held in a restaurant setting.  Include in this the cost of your appetizers, cake and any other food or drink that will be served at the baby shower.

The next largest expenses are the decorations, games, shower gifts, and party favors.  These items according to party planners can account for 30-35% of your budget. The decorations include shower banners, centerpieces, flowers, and anything else that promotes the baby shower feel.  The games can be guessing games, matching games, or any game that engages your guests to interact with each other and have fun. The shower gifts are for guests that win a party game or have helped with the planning or paying for the baby shower. The baby shower favors should be given to each guest at the baby shower as a reminder of the baby shower.  A party favor that is attractive and personalized with the mom-to-be’s name and a favor they will use is always a good idea to ensure that the favor will not be put into a drawer at home and forgotten.

The remaining costs are associated with your invitations, entertainment, and venue rental. Party planners tell us to allow up to 30 percent of your total budget for these expenses. When budgeting the cost of the invitations allow for the cost of postage. The entertainment is only limited by your imagination and budget. Party planners say a great way to entertain can be making a short video for the mom that that allows the guests to take part in giving the mom-to be their thoughts and well wishes. The cost of the venue depends on the number of guests at the baby shower. A great way to reduce costs for the venue is to hold the baby shower at the host’s home or at a home that is large enough have the baby shower. We hope that this is helpful in planning a fun baby shower for everyone invited!

When to Host a Baby Shower
When planning a baby shower there are many questions that every host will have. One of the most common questions is when is the best time to have the baby shower. This is important because it has to take into account the baby’s delivery date and the schedules of the guests invited to the baby shower.  The traditional time to hold the baby shower is before the baby’s birth. The most popular time to hold the baby shower is one to two months before the baby birth. With the traditional baby shower the gender of the baby may not be known. If this is the case it is acceptable to decorate with neutral colors such as light yellows and light greens. Recently it has become popular to have a ‘Sprinkle’ for the mother and baby. A Baby Sprinkle is just like a Baby Shower with the only difference is that it is thrown one to two months after the baby is born. Having the party after the baby is born has many advantages. A few are the new mom may be better able to enjoy her shower and it is easier to buy gifts when the guests know the gender of the baby. Either way you choose to go, be sure not to throw the party too close to the baby’s delivery date. Scheduling at least one month before or after the delivery date will make sure that the expectant mother will be able to participate and enjoy her baby shower. It also makes sure that the baby will not arrive on the day of the baby shower.

What is a "Gender Reveal" Party?
A new trend in baby showers is the gender reveal party. This is a party or a baby shower that the gender of the soon to be born baby is shared with family and friends. The theme of the gender reveal baby shower combines baby blue and pink decorations which create a pastel feel for the baby shower that is appropriate for either a boy or a girl. The gender reveal baby shower is a party that has a cliffhanger as everyone is excited to find out the gender of the baby. There are several fun games related to guessing the gender of the baby at the baby shower. A popular choice is the gender reveal scratch off game. The game is similar to a scratch off lottery game.  The guest is asked to choose whether the baby is a boy or a girl and scratch off to see which is correct.Oftentimes the mystery is not limited to the guests at the baby shower. Another neat idea is to bake cupcakes and add either blue or pink sprinkles in the cake, then frost it a neutral color like yellow. Put a big question mark on top. They'll find out the gender when they bite into the cupcake to reveal the color of sprinkles in the cake. Our neighbor owns an imaging company that scans to reveal the gender of babies. Often the parents have the pictures and the gender of the baby put in a sealed envelope so that he parents find out the gender at the same time as everyone else.  How fun it is to be at the baby shower and find out the gender of the baby at the same time as the parents!

A great way for a new father to show affection and appreciation for the mother of his new baby is a “Push Present”. The Push Present is a unique in that the gift is given to celebrate the mother giving birth to their new baby. The “Push Present” can be given at any time close to the birth of the baby, even in the delivery room! The tradition of giving a present to the new mother traces its roots to India and England. What a great way to tell the new mom that you understand and appreciate all of the sacrifices that she has made over the last nine months.  And will continue to make into the future. Some great “Push Present” ideas are baby keepsake kits, pajamas, or any gift that will make your home more comfortable. Of course you will never go wrong by giving jewelry!

Neat Way To Remember Loved Ones Who Have Passed On
My father-in-law was a gardener and into all things that are enviornmently friendly. From composting table scraps to driving the most eco-friendly car, he really believed in reducing our carbon footprint on the Earth. We recently had a memorial for my father-in-law Joe. It was a time of great sadness as we were saying farewell of a loved and respected. Working at a party favor making company, the task of providing keepsakes of the memorial was a job that we happily accepted.  With my father-in-law in mind we created personalized flower seed memorial favors. The keepsakes were personalized with Joe’s name and his favorite passage from the Bible. Inside were Forget Me Not Flower seeds that the attendees at the memorial were instructed to plant in spring to memorialize Joe. It makes me feel good to know that next spring there will be people from all parts of the country the planting flower seeds, doing what Joe loved to do. When the pretty flowers bloom all of the guests at the memorial will think about Joe and all that he meant to us.

If your group of friends enjoy a little pampering, they will love the next idea for a baby shower. A 'Pamper Mom and her Guests' baby shower is a party that everyone at your party will love. With all of the pressures that we face everyday this party is truly an oasis. Your guests will be so excited that they will circle the date on the calendar as soon as they receive the party invitation. They may even countdown the days until the party. This is a memorable baby shower that everyone will remember fondly, both for the way it makes them feel and the time they get to spend with close friends. This may be the last time before the baby is born for the mom-to-be to pamper herself.

With today's economy, money may be a major issue when hosting a baby shower. With this in mind we can think of two unique ways to throw this party that are both fabulously fun.
The more costly option, but worth every penny, is to have the baby shower at a day spa. The day spa offers several benefits. The mom-to-be and your guests will be able to have the spa experience and reap all of the pleasure of a professional pampering. At a spa all of your needs will be catered from being served drinks and food to having a manicure and massage. There are many other amenities that your local spa offers. And another great thing is that there is no clean up after the party.

If you are worried about cost this shower can be very cost effective if your guests agree to pay for themselves. Your guests must be aware of this ahead of time so that there are no surprises. The only person who does not pay for herself is the guest of honor. It is tradition that the host to pay for her spa treatment. Most day spas will give a group discount based upon the number of people in your party.

If you are trying to keep the costs of your shower low, you can have a 'Pamper Mom' baby shower at your home. It is really easy to decorate and only requires some of the decorating associated with a traditional baby shower. You will need to decorate your home to look like a spa. Play soft spa music, light some candles, and provide comfortable seating. Basically do anything that you think will help to create a relaxing environment.

You will need top call in some professional help to pull off this baby shower. Hire a manicurist to provide the nail treatments, a beauty consultant for the make up, and even a masseur to give the massages. The manicures can be performed at your kitchen table or any other table in your home. For the beauty consultation set up a tables in your family room (or another large room) for the ladies to apply their make up. Be sure to provide plenty of lighting and mirrors for the ladies to admire themselves. For the massage create a quiet and secluded area in your home. Your guests will want a little privacy for their massage. Don't worry; the masseur will bring their massage table.

The gifts for the mom-to-be can be the traditional gifts for baby that are usually given at baby showers. Or you can stay in the 'Pamper Mom' party theme and give the mom-to-be luxury gifts to pamper the mom-to-be.

After the baby shower send the guests home with a party favor of luxurious bath salt or scented bubble bath confetti. These items are unique, useful, and will be a reminder of their day of pampering. The guests will love pampering themselves and relaxing with their friends. It is a baby shower that the mom-to-be will always remember fondly.

Here's to the hostess with the mostess! ~ Erica

Baby fever has hit the set of the popular ABC comedy 'Ugly Betty'. According to OK
Magazine, Ana Ortiz is explecting a "fashionable pregnancy party". Her baby shower is
being hosted by 'Ugly Betty' costume designer Patricia Field. The actress is expecting a baby girl in July.

The 38 year old actress was born and raised in New York City. Ana caught the preforming bug when she was five years old. After earning her Bachelor's degree at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Ana returned to New York following graduation joining the acclaimed Labyrinth Theatre. Ana has had many television guest roles in 'ER', 'Everybody Loves Raymond', and 'Commander in Chief'.

Ana expects to celebrate with her castmates and members of the "Ugly Betty" crew. This sounds like a baby shower that I would love to be a guest at. We wish Ana and her family all the best for the future.

April 22nd is Earth Day 2009. To stay with the idea of being Earth friendly here are a few things that I heard over the weekend. I really need to get a life!

The state of Utah has put many service employees on a four day work week. This saves 20 percent on the fuels used in commuting to and from work. It also signifigantly saves on energy used to heat and cool the state office buildings. Most employees really like the schedule change. It gives them more time off of work and more time to spend with family and friends. In these times of cost cutting and I applaud the officials in Utah for thinking green by saving money and helping the enviorment.

Utah is not the first government agency to adopt a progressive energy policy. During the 1970's energy crisis President Jimmy Carter took the lead on controlling energy costs. President Carter installed temperature controls on the heating and air conditioning systems of many federal government buildings in Washington D.C. This kept the building employees from setting the temperature too high too low and conserve energy.

These are just a few things people have done to help the enviornment. I will try to find more ideas as Earth Day 2009 approaches. If you have any ideas,
please share them with me. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Cheers,
Erica

Hi, it's me Erica again. I hope that everyone is finding my blog useful and fun. If you have any suggestions for topics or any questions that you can't find answers to drop me an email and I will try to answer you questions.

With Spring finally blooming, I started to think about the environment alot lately. There are many things that each of us can do to conserve and help the enviornment. At ABC Favors a few things that we have done to help include providing baby shower favors that are eco-friendly. Many of our most popular favors are our seed themed favors. These party favors are personalized for each baby shower and are 100% enviormentally friendly. These favors are taken home after the shower and planted to grow beautiful flowers. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

Another step that I am proud to say we have taken is in the packaging that we use for shipping. Each day we get many boxes sent to us containing the materials that we use to make our party favors and other party supplies. When the packaging is good enough condition to reuse, we use the boxes to ship items to our customers. This reduces our carbon footprint by reducing the space that would be used if we disposed of the packaging in a landfill.

With the availability of office technology we have reduced the amount of paper that we use in our facility by 50% over the last year. This may have helped conserve a very small forest somewhere.

These are just a few thing that we have done to help Mother Earth. Here are some other great ideas: Turn off office machines when not being used. If you can not completely turn these machines off, many machines offer an energy saver mode that significantly cut energy used to power these machines. These steps can save hundreds of dollars in energy bills over the course of a year.

If you have any ideas for conserving or baby shower favors that you have seen that are Earth friendly let me know and I will share these ideas in my blog.
Thanks again for checking out my blog.
Cheers,
Erica

Grandmother Baby Shower

A fun twist on the baby shower is the Grandmother Shower. This shower is a fun celebration for the first time grandmother. A differnce between this shower and the traditional shower is that this party is held after the baby is born. The party is after the birth so that the grandmother will have many photos to share with all of her friends.

Are there gifts for the new grandmother? Absolutely, what is a baby shower without gifts. Many of the gifts can be the same as the gifts given to the parents. Afterall the baby will be spending a lot of time at grandma's house!

The food served at this shower is a dessert and coffee or tea. What a fun time to celebrate the new grandmother and for everyone invited!

Make Your Shower Guests Comfortable

A great baby shower is judged in a large part by the amount of fun that the mom-to-be and guests have at the shower. If many of the guests do not know each other before the shower you will need to find a way to get the guests to interact. Shower games and activities are the traditional way to get guests to mix.

There are many new games that your guests will enjoy. If you have the time to do it, another way is the old fashioned introduction. When introducing your guests be sure to mention each person's reationship to the mom-to-be. Always remember that the guests make the party. With a good mix of people fun activities your baby shower will go off without any problems
.

Food at Your Shower
One of the biggest questions that I have had any of my baby showers is 'What do I serve my guests to eat?' There are two major factors that determine what you will do for the food.
The first is the size of the shower you are hosting. For a smaller the party you are expected to serve a full meal. For a larger party appetizers and refreshments are preferred.

The second factor is the time of day that your are having the party. If the party is around a mealtime you are expected to provide a full meal to your guests. This can be a meal provided by the host or the a potluck dinner. If your party is in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening, you can serve your guests appetizers and desserts.

I have found two tips that have been invaluable to my showers. First, check your guest list for any food alergies. Many people have an allergy to peanuts, seafood, or any number of foods which can get them seriously ill if they unknowingly eat. The other tip is as the host spend most of your time outside of the kitchen and with the party. Afterall, you did alot of work, so you should have fun at the party you are hosting.

Should I Have Games at my Baby Shower?

A question I always hear is 'What games should I plan for my shower?'. This depends on the guests at your shower. If they all know each other before the shower, then a game may not be needed. If most of the guests are not acquainted then you should plan a couple of games. Baby shower games are great for breaking the ice. The games are played in order to get your guests acquainted with each other and set a fun mood.

Be sure that the games and activites at your baby shower are not so competitive that any of your guests will have hurt feelings. There is nothing worse than a guest that is not happy. It is best to keep your games lighthearted and not taken too seriously. The most important part of a baby shower is to have a good time.

Inviting Guests to Your Shower
It is considered polite to invite guest to your baby shower between four to six weeks before the date of the baby shower. This will give your guests plenty of time to make arrangements to attend the shower and purchase gifts for the mom-to-be. By sending invitations early you will also have a good idea of how many people will be able to come to your baby shower. You to know how much food and how many baby shower favors you will need get.

In a nutshell it is better to error on the side of sending the invitations out too early as opposed to a little late.

Hostess Checklist

Does hosting a baby shower seem like an huge and impossible job to you? Trust me, it is not that bad. It is actually several small and managable jobs. The secret is being organized. This is a list that I have used when I have hosted for my friends:

1. Pick a time to have the baby shower. Always let the mom-to-be choose the best time for her and work around that time.
2. Make your guests list. Let the mom-to-be have final say over who is invited to her baby shower.
3. Choose a location for the party. Be sure that the site will comfortably fit all of your guests.
4. Send out the invitations. Include with the invitations the date, time, and driving directions to the party.
5. Decide what food you are
serving. This can be as complex as a full meal or as sinmple as appetizers.
6. Decorate for the party. Make the atmosphere more festive with baby related decorations and activities.
7. Find guests that will be your helpers. These are key people
that can help you while the shower is going on.
8. Enjoy the party. Your party will be fun, so relax and have a good time.

These hints really helped me keep everything in perspective for my parties. I am sure that they will help you too.

Decorating with the Stork

One of the first things that I think about when it comes to babies is the stork and his bundled baby. The stork is a fun theme for decorating for you baby shower. There are many stork decrations, plates, and games available. If you are coordinating your party decorations and activities the old reliable stork is perect for your party.

Low Cost Decorating Idea

Are you looking for a low cost way to decorate your baby shower? One of the cheapest way that I found is with colorful confetti. Many confettis come in special baby shower designs and colors that really stand out. The decorating is as simple as spreading the confetti on tables. It looks great and is cheap! I wish that everything was this easy!

Outdoor Decorating Ideas

When decorating your baby shower don't forget to decorate the outside of your home too. The easiest way to do this is place a banner announcing the baby shower on your garage door or somewhere near the entrance to your home. Another idea is put a yard sign in front of your home to get a little extra attention. These are just a few decorating ideas that will make your shower special.

Create a 'Throne' for the Mom-to-be'

Make a throne for your guest of honor to sit on while she opens her presents. Tie helium filled balloons and stream pastel crepe paper to a high back chair to create a the throne. This is a fun and inexpensive way to focus the attention on the mom-to-be while she opens her gifts.

A Unique Shower Gift Idea

Everybody wishes to give the new parents a unique and thoughtful gift at their baby shower. A great idea that I found is a custom framed version of the mom and dad's family trees. The family tree shows bith sides of the family and is laid out with the baby in the center. This makes it a little differnt than the traditional family tree.

This is a gift that will be treasured!

Baby Shower Memory Book

Another fun activity for guests at you family baby shower is a baby memory book. There is a significant differnce between this and traditional memory books though. This memory book is based on the baby's family. Get each person in your family to reveal something about themselvesthat the newborn may find interesting when he or she is older. This will be a cherished treaure that will be kept forever!

Making the memory book is fun and is low cost. Go to your favorite store and get a scrapbooking kit with blank sheets. Ask your guests to fill out the sheets of the book and collect the sheets as the guest finish filling them out. Take some time after the party to put the book together. As the party is finishing up let the parents know that you have an extra special gift for the baby.

The new parents will enjoy looking at the book and it is a way to record a little bit of family history.
A Fun Shower Activity -  Baby Photo Gallery

When you annouce that you are expecting a baby your family members are the most excited for you. For this reason alone is a great reason to have a family only baby shower. Everyone in your family is invited to the party. This is a perfect time to have members from both sides of the family get together.

If the two sides of the family are not too close, a fun way to get them to interact is to make a gallery of the family member's baby pictures. You will need a little help in getting all of the photographs from people on each side of the family. Also include a picture of the new baby in you collection. Frame your photos in a clear plastic frame. In the front of the frame place the baby picture. On the back put a recent photo ofthe person.

You will be amazed at the conversation that this will start! Everyone will have a great time looking the baby photos and seeing how everyone now looks. This activity really works well at any gathering of the two sides of the family. It is a fun activity to do at the baby's Baptism or Christening too!

Baby Shower "Sprinkle" - Second Baby Shower Trend

Every baby is a special addition of joy that adds to his or her family. With this in mind, baby showers are not only for the first time parents. Every baby deserves to have a baby shower and be welcomed into the world by family and friends. The baby shower gifts are important so that the family will be able to replenish all of the baby items that they will need when the new baby arrives. When planning a baby shower for a second, third, or fourth baby, the baby shower can be similar to the first baby shower in many ways. While the family may still have many of the larger baby items from their first baby (such as the crib and the baby bath tub), there are many things that they will need for the new baby. A can’t miss gift is always clothing, especially if the sex of the second baby is different than the sex of the first baby.

As any parent of a newborn can tell you a great gift idea is diapers. Diaper cakes are a great way to give diapers as a gift. The diapers are used as a decoration at the baby shower by having the diapers put together to look like a wedding cake complete with rattles, pacifiers, and baby blankets. If you are hosting a baby shower that older siblings will be attending, it is important to include them in the activities. Depending on their ages they will be able to take part in different the baby shower festivities. Older siblings can sometimes feel left out with all of the fuss about the new baby. The soon-to-be big brother or sister is seeing their whole family dynamic change and this can be scary. To help ease their transition to being a big brother or big sister they should be an important part of the shower. It is also a good idea to bring a gift for the older sibling as well as the baby. A fun idea is t-shirt that says “I’m the Big Brother” or “I’m the Big Sister”. Anything that you can do will reassure them that they are not left out and make feel special. As with any baby shower or party the main idea is to have fun. It is a time that friends and family get together to show their family support and love for the expanding family.

Giving a Baby Shower to Mom on Bedrest

The question is posed to us all of the time. Should I wait until after the birth or before the birth for a shower? This is probably best answered by the mom's individual condition. If she is on bed rest and feels good, then you may want to try a small party. But, if she feels just awful and not in a party mood, then she may want to have the baby shower after the baby arrives.

You can have a "welcome home" baby shower. The benefit of this is that you know if it is a girl or boy. The down side is that the mom will be needing baby items right after the birth such as diapers, wipes, crib, car seat, etc..

Talk it over with the mom-to-be. See what she wants to do. A small gathering that you can call a "sprinkle" of much needed baby items before the birth is great. Then, follow it up with a larger "shower" after the birth. See what she wants. But, definitely ask her. Don't just assume you know what she wants. That's my two cents for the day. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Celebrity Pregnancies and the High Price of Fame.

There are many celebrities that are having babies this year. It is fun to watch as the stars begin to show as their baby starts to grow.  It is just as fun to watch how they welcome the baby and work toward having a healthy and happy baby.

We can all imagine the excitement for any first time parent as the blessed day gets closer. There is much work and preparation that go into getting ready for a baby.

As we all know there is a lot of work that goes into preparing for the arrival of the new baby. The first and most important thing is maintaining good health throughout the pregnancy. Any bad habit such as smoking or alcohol use must be stopped as soon as the mom-to-be learns that she is pregnant. Eating healthy and wholesome foods are essential for the mom-to-be so that she can stay healthy during this time of great physical change. If possible getting on a low impact exercise program will make the pregnancy progress nicely.

When a celebrity is pregnant nowadays, she is under the microscope of public scrutiny. Anything she does will be analyzed and commented upon. This can be good or bad. In the good column it may provide enough structure for a person the work to make their pregnancy a great and enriching experience. It is a bad situation when the mom-to-be is harassed by celebrity photographers or other media types that exploit the celebrities.

In my opinion everyone should realize that celebrities are just like everyone else. They have dreams of having a healthy family and living a fulfilling life. Everyone including celebrities make mistakes in their lives. The difference is that when most people make mistakes it is not broadcast around the world for everyone to see. This added pressure has to weigh on people and make them feel like they live in a fish bowl.

I guess that it is the high price of fame.

Why give baby shower favors?

Baby shower favors are the lasting impression that your guests will take home with them following your party. Make their baby shower favors something that they will be able to use and enjoy for a long time. The ideal baby shower favor for your party should be a reflection of your personality as well as the mom-to-be. A fun idea is to offer personalized favors that contain the name of the mom-to-be and has the date of the event also. By giving party favors with the name of the mom-to-be, you are ensuring that the favors that you are giving your guests are unique and made exclusively for your party.

The baby shower party favors that you choose to give to your guests will show how much you appreciate them attending your baby shower. A great idea is to match your shower favors to your party theme. There are baby shower favors that can be made to match up with any party theme. This goes for personalizing for any party as well.

If you are planning a couples baby shower can’t miss favors are food favors. This can be candy favors, chocolate lollipop favors, muffin favors, and sugar cookie favors. All of these great favor ideas can be personalized with both the name of the mom and dad to include everyone in the fun.

Another fun favor idea for a couples shower are favors that can be used such as wine stoppers or bookmarks. Nothing will show your appreciation to your guests as much as these little items that show your personal touch.

Celebrities that are expecting in 2009

We all have friends or family members that are expecting a new baby this year. This is a huge event in our lives and we want to share the news with the world. Our fact digging staff at Abc Favors wondered which one of your favorite stars are expecting a baby this year too. We found that many of our favorites are painting a nursery and planning on an addition to their family.

Expecting her third baby is supermodel Niki Taylor and her racecar driver husband Burney Lamar. Niki has teenage twin sons so she is not new to the baby game. Taylor is due to deliver in March. Taylor who survived a near fatal car crash a few years ago is excited about the new addition to her family, although she is leaving the naming of the newborn to her husband!

“Six Days Seven Nights” star Anne Heche is expecting her second child this March. For the actress formerly linked with top rated talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, this is her first child with “Men in Trees” star James Tupper. Anne’s first child is six-year old Homer, from a previous marriage.

Expecting in early April is “How I Met Your Mother’ star Alyson Hannigan and her husband Alexis Denisof. The “American Pie” actress has reported that she is experiencing all of the food cravings that most of us have during pregnancy. Alyson mentioned ginger ale as one of her newest cravings. Another symptom of her pregnancy is a lack of concentration.

Due in August is “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The outspoken conservative is expecting her third child with husband former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. The couple also has a son born in 2005 and a daughter born in 2007. Elisabeth  plans to stay busy during her pregnancy, in addition to her hosting duties she will be working on fashion line for QVC television.

Lets wish these ladies who are adding to their families all of the best in this year. We all know what a joy a new baby is and how much the new families will love the new addition to the their families.

Baby Shower Cookies

A great way to celebrate at your baby shower is with delicious baby shower cookies. There are many varieties to choose from and a flavor that is sure to please any taste. Our shower experts are partial to decorated sugar cookies that are personalized with the name of the mom-to-be and the date of the baby shower. These cookies are not only delicious, but leave a memorable impression with your guests.

Some of the most popular are the sugar cookies that show a design of a safety pin that is decorated for either a boy or a girl baby shower. The colors are the traditional pink or blue and says “It’s a Boy” or “It’s a Girl”. Each cookie is as delicious as it is adorable.

Another popular cookie is the onesie design cookie. These large sugar cookies are perfect for either a baby boy or a baby girl shower. They feature fun and colorful stripes across the front of the cookie set on a pink or blue background color. Each cookie also features a cute sailboat or a fun star.

If your baby shower is for an African American baby, then you are at the right place! We offer sugar cookies that are custom designed for baby boys or baby girls. Our cute African American cookies have rosy-cheeked babies that are too cute! We also offer a Crawling Baby cookie that is available for African American or Caucasian designs. This cookie is available for both baby girls and baby boys.

If you are not sure the gender of the baby we offer several cute designs that are perfect for these baby showers as well. We have cookies for any party theme that you are having and any occasion. A few of the most popular are our baby bee sugar cookie and our baby bear sugar cookie. These cheerful cookies will help you yo make your celebration memorable!

If sugar cookies are not for you, then we suggest our sprinkled sugar cookies. These cookies are decorated for your baby boy or baby girl shower and come complete with a fun poem on the inside. The detail of these fortune cookies is truly adorable.

Whichever type of cookie you choose will be a big hit at your shower. Your guest will enjoy the taste and remember these cookies for years to come!

Recession or not...she's going to have a baby!

The majority of Americans have been affected by our economic downturn in one way or another. Whether you lost your job or maybe your hairstylist lost her job, which greatly affects your hair days. You may think that this is going to affect the parties that you have lying ahead this year. Wrong!

Do you think that your sister is going to want to cut expenses on her first, and maybe only, baby shower in her life? I don't think so. And it's not just the pregnancy hormones talking here! She's planning her baby's first days in her mind and thinking of the pictures and memories of the perfect baby shower. She'll show off the baby's book every year and remember her friends and family who celebrated with her that day.And you can make it all happen for her.

You don't need to buy $10 party favors or host the shower at a lavish restaurant. By simply keeping to a theme (which will make you look very put-together), making some good choices on favors and party supplies, and planning ahead, you can pull off an awesome baby shower bash for your sister, friend, co-worker, sorority sister, or anyone else who you hold dear. I'm not into a tacky party, and buying little plastic do-dads and calling them "favors" is not my cup of tea. If you put thought into the details of the baby shower it really shows.

Catch your guests with some little unexpected "surprises" like personalized waterbottles in the theme of your party. Mint matchbooks are not very expensive and give that "wow" factor that your guests will enjoy. Think outside of the box and make your party original with some lavish details and some not-so-expensive (not cheap) details. It's a recession-proof formula for winning.
