As Americans this is a special time that shows up every four years. Needless to say, we are in the middle of election season. If you are like me, you are probably getting pretty tired of it already. Try to turn the election into a fun event by throwing an Election Night party. This can be a gathering of limited to your Democrats or Republicans friends. Another fun idea is to make it a nonpartisan event and invite all of your Red State and Blue State friends. This will make the party conversations lively and will insure that at least some of your guests will leave happy if their candidate wins! Keeping in mind that Election Night is an American tradition decorating can be anything that is red, white, and blue. Your table covers, dinnerware, and decorations are easy to find at the local party store. Other cute decorations can be stuffed elephants and donkeys or anything else that is uniquely American. A fun game idea is trivia games involving past Presidents and their achievements. Another idea is a scratch-off game with both candidates and the guests that have the correct answer wins prizes at the end of the night. Let’s make the best of the election this year and throw a party in honor of it.
Changes You May Have During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a magical time in a woman’s life. The excitement and anticipation of awaiting the arrival of the new baby boy or baby girl is like waking up on Christmas morning to a house full of presents! There is plenty to do, from painting the baby’s nursery to buying a crib and other furniture for the baby. It is a busy time that makes many feel like there is not enough time in the day to get everything that need to be done accomplished. With all of this excitement there are also many things that may seem out of the ordinary to the mom-to-be. Some of these are related to changes in hormone levels, while many can be attributed to a lack of sleep! Have you noticed that your hair seems to be thicker? This is a great bonus for most of us. This is due to hormone levels increasing as your baby grows. The down side of this is that you may be growing hair in places that you never had hair before. No need to worry, after you have your baby everything will go back normal. Does your nose seem more sensitive than ever? Many pregnant women experience an increased sense of smell during the first trimester of their pregnancy due to an increase in the amount of estrogen that your body is producing. The down side to this is that you may be more sensitive to certain smells and that can lead to the feeling of morning sickness.Do you feel forgetful? A lot of pregnant women experience this. It can be from forgetting where you put your car keys, to not being able to remember your husband’s phone number. Don’t worry this is a common. It may be due to lack of sleep and that you have so much on your mind getting everything ready for your new baby. Have you noticed that your shoes don’t fit anymore? You are not alone. This may be due to the extra weight brought on by your pregnancy and the effects of gravity. Another reason may be that your ligaments are starting to relax preparing your body for delivering your baby. Don’t rush out and buy new shoes, unless you really want to! Your feet will return to normal size quickly after you have your baby!Good luck, stay healthy, and enjoy this special time!
